What is worth bringing from Japan—and what could you get there?

Your homestay

You’re packing at home in Japan before leaving for your homestay. Think about your actual destination, season and length of stay.

Your travel documents, phone, essential personal items and basic clothes are already on your list. Choose up to 8 extras worth discussing.

This is a shortlist of priorities, not a baggage allowance. You decide later what belongs in your suitcase, what you’ll carry, and what you’ll wear on the journey.

Choose up to 8 extras to discuss. Consider what you already own, how much you would use it, and what you should check with your host family.

How to play together

1. Everyone adds their own destination, departure month and length of stay.

2. Make your own shortlist before comparing it with others.

3. Compare with a partner or the group. Explain one useful extra, one personal choice and one thing you would leave behind. Different destinations may mean different choices.

4. Open a follow-up question. Review your shortlist and explain whether you would change anything.

Group challenge: If you were going to the same destination, which items would everyone agree are worth bringing? Which choices would stay personal?

Each device is independent. Talk through Teams. The game does not send your choices to the teacher.
